Soul Bait started out as a monthly newsletter for the outreach department of
Family Christian Center of Clermont, Florida. The name "Soul Bait" came from the
scripture in John 4:7-27. It is the story of the woman at the well. God told us that
Soul Bait was to touch people through ALL forms of ministry.
In 2006, God told Pastors Scott and Jennifer Lathrop to step out into full-time
ministry. In 2007, the Lathrops were released from Family Christian Center to
Jacksonville, FL, where Soul Bait Ministries was launched into full-time service.
There are 3 areas in which Soul Bait Ministries believes it is supposed to work:
1st Equipping the Body of Christ through preaching, Hearing God’s Voice classes,
prophetic evangelism, Dreams & Visions training, and Soul Bait’s School of
Ministry.
2nd National & international Healing ministry to the body, soul, and mind through
teaching & prayer crusades.
3rd Planting & maintaining churches. We believe time is short, and we have to
help the established church grow in new levels, plant new churches nationally
& internationally, and take ground back from the enemy.
Soul Bait’s desire is that we grow into that powerful & loving bride, not shrink back
like scared little children.

| About the Lathrops |
Both Scott and Jen are ordained ministers of the Gospel.
Scott is a unique teacher, counselor and minister. He also carries the mantle
and walks in the office of a prophet. Scott uses his giftings to bring
encouragement, healing, change and direction into the lives of individuals,
families, churches and businesses. He also mentors a group of leaders-in-
training to raise them up into their callings.
Scott grew up with his family in Waterloo, Iowa. He accepted Jesus at the age
of 10 years old. At the age of 14, his youth leader prophesied over him that he
had a call of God on him. At the age of 19, he went in the U.S. Navy for 7 years.
It was then that he started to see God’s hand on his life. Like Abraham, he would
never live with his family in Iowa again. In 1990, he met Jennifer Petree. In 1993,
he married Jennifer (God’s second biggest gift to him, Jesus being the first).
Jennifer has a powerful prophetic anointing on her. She walks in a powerful
love-of-God anointing. Jennifer grew up in Callahan, Florida. She accepted
Jesus at the age of 9. She grew in the knowledge of God at Gray Gables Baptist
Church. Jennifer graduated from Jacksonville University (JU) in 1992. During
that time is when she met Scott.
In 1995, Scott and Jen moved to Clermont, FL to help Rick Van Wagner start
Family Christian Center. While there, they were trained and built up to walk in
their giftings. They were also blessed with 2 sons, Joseph & Jacob.
Today, Pastors Scott and Jen continue to share the love and Kingdom of God
around the world as full-time ministers. They also serve as ministers at their
home church in Jacksonville.
